Didn't you give away large files at one time?
Grand plan, but I couldn't keep up with demand. Moreover people still had to take the CD somewhere to get prints. Now the deal on my Prints page gives you professional quality images at snap shot prices. And no, printing from home does not work out cheaper than 60 cents a print.
Why do you archive events
Photochick operates on 150 - 200mb of online disk space. Older photos have to make way for new events. When I retire an event to the archives you can still view a contact sheet of its images.
Image type, size and enlargements
I take my photos using a Canon EOS 1D Mark III digital camera. That stores 2 types of file - a raw file and a large JPG. The raw file (.CR2 format) is about 12MB in size. It can be manipulated using applications like Photoshop to rearrange, recolour etc and exports to a variety of formats including .TIFF which is used produce very high quality printed images. The large JPG is about 8 MB. It can be manipulated with a variety of applications and prints very good quality photographic images. People who order images on disk recieve a large JPG. Galleries on this site offer FREE small JPG images which are ideal for use as a screen saver.
How do I identify a photo when asking for it?
look for the image number above the large image in a gallery or below the thumbnail on a contact sheet.
Do all your photos go up in your event gallery?
No I always take more photos than are on display. I try to put at least one shot of every competitor in each event gallery. If you can't find what you're looking for email me and I'll have a look when I get time..
Would you come and take photos at my event.
Sure, if I have got the time and it doesn't clash with something I'm already committed to. I am interested in supporting all types of sport. Email info of your event to PhotoChick.

Email PhotoChick. Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to get round to stuff. I've got a busy day job and a paddling addiction to feed on weekends.
